I discovered my love for design before I knew what it was. As a kid, I traced illustrations from books and ran to show my parents what I had made, convinced it was incredibly original. That early excitement of creating something and being proud of it stayed with me, but I quickly learned that talent only gets you so far. What carried me forward is discipline, curiosity, and the willingness to keep working when something doesn’t feel right.
As I grew, tracing turned into drawing, drawing turned into designing, and I became more interested in why something worked than just how it looked. My process starts with questions. What is this really saying? Is this the obvious answer? Can it be pushed further? I explore multiple directions, sketch quickly, and test ideas against each other before choosing a path. I don’t commit to the first solution that makes sense, I look for the one that holds up under pressure.
When I began studying design seriously, I thought being good meant getting it right the first time. But the projects that shaped me most were the ones I had to revisit and rethink. Now I start with structure, strong type, clear hierarchy, intentional color, and then I challenge it. I adjust scale, remove elements, and refine it until the work feels resolved. I’m confident in my taste, but I don’t let that confidence limit exploration. What makes me unique isn’t a single aesthetic. It’s the way I think through problems and stay with them long enough to uncover something deeper. I value clarity, depth, and design that feels earned, and that’s what I bring to every project.
